Barry Stern
Barry Stern was a heavy metal drummer from Chicago, Illinois. From 1976 until 1988, Barry drummed for Zoetrope, for whom he also served as vocalist and songwriter. After recording two LPs with that band, Barry joined Trouble in 1989. He appeared on two LPs with the band, 1990's Trouble and 1992's Manic Frustration, before leaving in 1993. In 1994, Barry replaced Joe Hasselvander (of Pentagram) in Cathedral for touring purposes[1]. Barry also joined Pantera (band) for a brief period of time. A guest spot on Debris, Inc.'s self-titled debut album was Barry's last appearance on record. He died on April 1, 2005 from complications following hip replacement surgery[2]. Prior to Barry's death, he was the founder of the band D-Connect (his stage name). He was singing and drumming for the band D-Connect at the time of his passing. Trouble dedicated their 2007 album Simple Mind Condition to his memory. He was an unbelievable son to Louise Stern, and an outstanding brother to Karen Stern Jarger and Arlen Stern. He was an amazing Uncle to Jeremy Jarger, Lindsay Jarger, and Alan Stern, and was a great friend and in-law to John Jarger. He will be loved forever always in his family and his fan's hearts.
